wie noch nie. Cinema like never before, Verlag der Buchhandlung Walter

We want to bring film into the exhibition space, but not
to turn the art space into a new cinema. We see it as a cutting room, a laboratory
for cinema. The cutting room is the place where film is examined; there, each
individual take is meticulously weighed and evaluated. A sequence of images
must first be examined in terms of what it expresses anf what it can express
in the context of other takes in order to determine where it will be placed
in a montage. This work of critical assessment has always existed in cutting
rooms, ever since the birth of film. (Antje Ehmann, Harun Farocki)
